Head of Property Management Weston-super-Mare | £40,000 per annum | Full-time, Permanent Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 5:30pm
 
 
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Head of Property Management to lead and develop a team of 7 across a property management operation covering a wide area of the South West.

This is a hands-on leadership role where people management is at the heart of what you do. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the department, delivering first-class customer service, and driving revenue growth and retention across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the property management department
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of 7, ensuring they maintain high standards at all times
  • Support, coach, and train your team to deliver exceptional service
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones with all staff members to support their development
  • Monitor processes across the department and implement improvements where required
  • Manage staff workloads, including taking on larger maintenance cases and difficult move-outs
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and effectively
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and current lettings legislation
  • Recruit new staff members as the team grows
  • Liaise with the social media team to maximise brand promotion to potential landlords
  • Provide management reporting and strategic insights
  • Implement and train the team on new legislative requirements
  • Drive revenue growth and retention across the department
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords and tenants
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the lettings industry, specifically in property management
  • Minimum 2 years' management experience, preferably in the lettings/property management sector
  • Proven experience managing rental properties in a busy, high-volume branch environment
  • Strong track record of building, leading, and developing successful teams
  • People management must be your passion – you genuinely enjoy coaching and developing others
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively with landlords and tenants at all levels
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Driven with a real desire to succeed and achieve targets
  • Proven ability to demonstrate initiative and self-motivation
  • Proven leader with excellent problem-solving capability
  • Professional, polished, and well-presented
  • Genuine interest in property and people
  • Thrives in an extremely fast-paced, high-volume workload environment
  • Ability to maintain a challenging workload and manage time effectively
  • Strong desire to keep abreast of and adhere to the latest lettings legislation
Qualifications
Essential:
  • GCSE Maths & English grade C or above (or equivalent)
Desirable:
  • Propertymark ARLA Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • A-Level or equivalent qualifications
