Residential Conveyancer (Ai Inquisitive)
Location: London office (hybrid working, minimum 3 days per week)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: Flexible working hours, aligned with client work and team meetings
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 DOE + share option grant
Essential: Strong technical experience across freehold, leasehold, new build, and shared ownership; comfort in fastmoving environments; experienced user of AI or willing to adopt AI supported workflows
About the Role
Rayner Personnel are proud to support our client in the search for an ambitious Residential Conveyancer to help launch a next generation conveyancing firm built around cutting edge AI technology. This is an early, high impact role suited to a conveyancer who wants to deliver exceptional client care while contributing to the development of transformative legal tech processes.
Our client is a specialist residential conveyancing law firm regulated by the CLC and wholly owned by a well-established, venture backed Legal AI business.
Their technology is already used across thousands of property transactions annually in the UK and US. This role blends high quality legal work with the opportunity to collaborate closely with engineers and product specialists to refine AI powered workflows and shape the future of conveyancing.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a small, high-quality caseload across freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, including new build and shared ownership matters.
• Work closely with legal technologists, product engineering, and operations teams to test, validate, and embed AI driven conveyancing processes.• Identify workflow bottlenecks, areas of rework, and recurring risk themes, contributing insights to support process and automation improvements.
• Utilise advanced tools for onboarding, AML, source of funds checks, title checking, and case management.
• Deliver excellent client care with limited supervision, escalating matters
appropriately when necessary.
• Help foster a culture similar to a high performing tech startup - high standards, low ego, and a bias toward action.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
• Demonstrated interest in AI, with evidence of experimenting with AI tools
personally or professionally.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with evolving processes.
• Strong technical conveyancing expertise, typically around 5+ years PQE (though capability outweighs strict thresholds).
• Experience managing complex leasehold matters, including Building Safety Act–impacted cases, as well as shared ownership and new build transactions.
• A forward thinking mindset focused on building and improving conveyancing systems—not just billing.
What the Client Offers
• Salary: £60,000–£80,000 DOE
• Equity: Share option grant
• Pension: 5% employer pension contribution
• Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
• CPD Support: Financial support for CPD requirements, practising certificates, or qualification routes
• Additional Benefits: Further benefits to be developed with input from new
joiners as the team grows
