About this role
As Head of People and Culture, you will lead our small and busy team responsible for bringing our People strategy to life and building our clients reputation as a great place to work. You will partner our leadership team, offering them expert advice and coaching that accelerates their team's growth.
You will provide an escalation route and day to day support to the Talent Lead and People Experience Co-ordinator to ensure high levels of performance and customer service across the team.
You will need the professional HR credentials to execute across the breadth of the function, but, crucially, you will bring a positive and proactive mindset where you spot the opportunities to create value and build a strong People operating system.

People leadership
- Own the delivery of our people foundations, establishing the People team as an expert, proactive function.
- Raise the bar in People operations, leading to improved manager confidence and capability, high quality hiring decisions and organisational performance.
- Working in partnership with our Marketing team, shape and sustain our employer brand, ensuring we attract and retain top talent.
- Be a trusted partner to leaders, providing coaching, data driven insights and clear recommendations.
- Strengthen our employee listening channels and embed clear feedback loops along with meaningful recognition initiatives.
- Lead our approach across the full employment lifecycle including talent and skills planning, recruitment and onboarding, growth and development and offboarding.
- Design and implement initiatives to embed our values into our day to day rhythm and key moments of the employee lifecycle.
- Design initiatives that strengthen engagement and improve internal communications.
Performance enablement
- Working with the Leadership team and Talent Lead, implement a skills framework and career and progression pathways that is future focused and designed to meet the needs of the business as it grows.
- Implement and maintain a performance framework that provides a structured cadence for both formal and informal feedback and is designed to enable the personal and professional growth of our team.
- Build manager capability through targeted training, providing learning materials in different formats to meet a variety of needs.
People operations
- Drive experimentation with AI within the People team and across the business to improve efficiency and experience, from onboarding and performance discussions to routine employee queries.
- Work with our People systems, identifying opportunities to optimise the tech stack and automate processes where appropriate.
- Oversee all areas of People Operations including, but not limited to, contracts and onboarding, policies, benefits and compliance, ensuring everything is managed effectively and aligned with employment law.
Talent attraction
- Lead the Talent Lead and Talent Acquisition Partner to shape hiring plans, build structured, candidate focused recruitment processes and build interview capability across the business.
- Own the onboarding experience end-to-end to ensure every new joiner has a clear, high quality, individualised and supportive experience from the moment they accept an offer through to the end of their probation.
About you
- Proven People leadership experience in a fast growing technology business.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent level of experience.
- Expert levels of prioritisation, you keep day to day operations running smoothly without it affecting momentum towards executing strategic plans.
- Thinks commercially and understands how effective people foundations enable business growth.
- Experience of delivering simple, scalable solutions that stick.
- Trusted by leaders as a thought partner and can coach with confidence.
- Strong understanding of People operations in small but scaling teams.
- Operates with a practical and low ego, collaborative style, building trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
- Experienced delivering initiatives across the full employee lifecycle with depth of interest in engagement and performance.
- An exceptional problem solver with a bias for action.
- Experienced using data to inform plans and improvement activity.
- You adopt a growth mindset and keep up to date with innovative People practices and are comfortable experimenting with new ideas.
- Have a proven ability to successfully navigate fast changing environments.

- Our eNPS is improving quarter on quarter
- We have reliably hit milestones on our People plan
- We consistently achieve >80% response rate to pulse surveys
- 100% of our managers have successfully completed our development programme and feedback is positive from the manager community and their teams
- We have an established set of People and Culture metrics and use the data to inform our plans
