Head of Business Development
Location: Remote
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 base
OTE: £90,000 – £100,000
A growing business within the PropTech space is looking for a Head of Business Development to lead the growth across the UK estate agency market.
This is a key commercial leadership role responsible for rebuilding and scaling a high-performing sales function. You’ll combine hands-on new business development with the leadership required to build, coach, and grow a successful sales team.
Initially managing a small team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future sales structure, commercial strategy, and revenue growth of the business.
The Role
As Head of Business Development, you’ll take ownership of new business growth across the estate agency sector, driving adoption of solutions that support lettings businesses.
You’ll lead from the front - generating new opportunities yourself while developing a team of sales professionals responsible for outbound prospecting, demonstrations, and closing larger deals.
This role offers the opportunity to rebuild and scale a sales function, creating a structure that enables consistent pipeline generation and predictable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Growth & New Business
- Lead new business sales within the UK estate agency market
- Personally generate new opportunities while supporting the team with strategic deals
- Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, product demonstrations, negotiation and closing
- Manage and develop a team of 3 sales professionals, with responsibility for future hiring
- Build a scalable sales structure including Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Development Representatives (SDRs)
- Coach team members to improve performance and consistently exceed targets
- Ensure SDRs effectively utilise internal data, cold outreach and prospecting strategies to generate qualified meetings
- Support AEs in converting high-value opportunities and managing demonstrations
- Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics across the team
- Track pipeline, activity and revenue performance to ensure targets are consistently achieved
- Contribute to the long-term sales strategy and team structure
- Support hiring, onboarding and performance management as the sales function scales
- Identify new opportunities to expand product adoption across the estate agency market
Ideal Team Structure
- Head of Business Development
- 2–3 Account Executives responsible for closing higher-value opportunities
- Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) focused on data mining, outbound prospecting and booking demonstrations
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience
- Proven B2B sales leadership experience
- Strong new business hunter mentality with a track record of winning accounts
- Experience selling into the estate agency or property sector
- Experience building and managing outbound sales teams
- Strong leadership, coaching and performance management capability
- Commercially driven with a deep understanding of sales metrics and pipeline management
- Comfortable operating in a remote, fast-paced sales environment
