About the Company:
This prestigious employer is an established firm of Chartered Surveyors, Auctioneers, Specialist Planning Consultants and Estate Agents with offices throughout South Devon.
Due to their continued growth and expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to join their specialist Rural Planning Team as a Rural Planning Professional.


Role Overview
The role will be on a full-time basis and the successful candidate will be principally based within their Totnes office, although there may be flexibility to work across our other offices, along with the potential for some home working. The role will suit an experienced rural planning specialist with a proven track record of success. The role offers an opportunity for the right candidate to build their own portfolio, expand the firms reach and launch a successful career with an established and supportive firm.
The candidate must be familiar with working in a rural environment. 


Areas of Work:


The successful applicant will join an established team with a varied workload, excellent reputation and loyal client base, undertaking a range of general rural planning work including:-

  • Pre-Application Advice
  • Full and Outline Planning Applications
  • Prior Notification for Permitted Development
  • Change of Use Applications
  • Applications for Certificates of Lawful Use and Development
  • Planning Appeals
  • Agricultural Appraisals in Support of Planning Applications
  • Strategic Promotion of Land for Residential Development
  • Removal or Variation of Planning Conditions
  • Advice on Agricultural Ties/Occupancy Conditions
The Ideal Candidate should be:
  • Preferably qualified with any of the following, but must have experience in a similar role:
    MRICS qualified (preferably Rural pathway) with 3-5 years PQE.
    CAAV/SAAVA membership or qualification advantageous.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Technically proficient with excellent attention to detail.
  • Professionally versatile with high standards.
  • Confident, driven and conscientious.
  • Have a full driving licence.
