Job description
Business Development Manager - Property Sector
Basic salary up to £45,000 depending on experience
On target earnings circa £65,000 plus (Uncapped commission structure.)
An ambitious and fast-growing start up operating in the property sector is looking to appoint a commercially minded Business Development Manager to help drive the next phase of growth.
This is not a corporate sales role with layers of structure and large support teams. It's a genuine start-up environment where people roll their sleeves up, move quickly and wear a number of hats to get things done.
The businesses mission is to simplify property maintenance, contractor coordination and tenant communication, bringing everything into one central system for property professionals.
The opportunity will suit someone who enjoys building something rather than simply maintaining it, and who is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where initiative and commercial instinct matter.
The role
Your primary focus will be generating new business and expanding the customer base across the property sector.
You will be identifying and engaging with property managers, letting agents, landlords and other property operators, introducing the company and demonstrating how it can help them run their businesses more efficiently.
You will manage the full sales process from initial outreach through to product demonstration and closing new accounts. This will involve identifying opportunities, qualifying prospects, running demonstrations, handling objections and negotiating agreements. It is anticipated that these contacts and demonstrations can be done remotely although there may be the occasional need for customer visits.
Because the business is still growing, the role will be hands-on and varied. Some days will be focused on prospecting and pipeline generation, others on refining messaging, feeding back market insight, supporting marketing initiatives or helping shape the sales approach as the company scales.
This is ideal for someone who enjoys building things from the ground up rather than stepping into a fully structured corporate sales machine.
The person we are looking for is someone who enjoys winning new business and building relationships with decision makers. You will have experience in a commercial, client acquisition or growth role where you have been responsible for generating opportunities and converting them into revenue.
You will be confident presenting solutions, running demonstrations and managing opportunities from first conversation through to signed agreement.
Important is the ability to understand operational challenges within a client's business and position a solution that genuinely improves how they work.
This role will suit someone who is self-motivated, commercially aware and comfortable working in a growing business where priorities can evolve and everyone contributes beyond their job title.
