Client Accountant - 12-Month Maternity Cover
Location: Earlsfield, SW18 4HW
Salary: Competitive (£33K to £35K) + up to 10% bonus
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 1 day WFH per week after probation

We're a fast-growing, independent property business known for our supportive and collaborative culture. Our client is now looking for an experienced Client Accountant to join our busy Client Accounts team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy, organisation, and communication really matter. You'll work closely with our Property Services and Lettings teams, managing client finances, ensuring compliance, and building strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and suppliers — all while working alongside some of the best talent in the property industry.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Processing
- Process new and renewal tenancies in line with signed agreements
- Set up financial schedules and register tenancy deposits
- Review supplier statements, resolve queries, and ensure invoices are raised and paid
- Reconcile client accounting reports and prepare periodic client reporting
- Apply late payment fees and produce rent arrears reports
- Allocate incoming funds in Reapit and 360, monitoring suspense accounts
- Respond to client queries promptly and professionally
- Chase rent arrears, keep landlords informed, and liaise proactively with internal teams
- Issue landlord statements, income breakdowns, and NRL6 certificates
- Manage internal compliance queries
- Ensure tenancy deposits are registered within statutory timeframes
- Maintain compliance with the Non-Resident Landlord (NRL) Scheme
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in Reapit
- Attend weekly Client Accounts meetings and quarterly company-wide events
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a residential lettings Client Accounting role
- Proven experience chasing rent arrears and liaising with landlords and internal teams
- Strong understanding of tenancy compliance and residential property accounting processes
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with a team-first mindset
- Experience using Reapit
