Litigation Oversight Specialist – Landlord & Tenant & General Dispute Resolution
Location: Flexible / Hybrid working options available
Salary: Competitive + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a Litigation Oversight Specialist to act as the first line of defence for a reputable legal services firm. In this strategic role, you will support the firm’s management team by overseeing litigation activities in both Landlord & Tenant matters and general dispute resolution. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving legal documents including possession proceedings, applications, warrants, witness statements, and cost schedules. Additionally, you’ll provide legal strategy guidance to a team of paralegals and support their ongoing development through training and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:
First Line of Defence (1LOD):
  • Oversee the conduct of all reserved legal activities carried out by the firm, particularly within Landlord & Tenant cases from pre-legal stage through to enforcement.
  • Develop internal legal knowledge and competence to reduce reliance on 1LOD activities and free up capacity for more strategic responsibilities.
Complex Litigation:
  • Advise and mentor paralegals on handling complex litigation, including fast/multi-track and contentious claims.
  • Occasionally manage a limited caseload of complex matters directly.
Compliance:
  • Support the firm’s compliance leaders with adhering to regulatory and insurer requirements.
  • Monitor litigation standards and promote continuous improvement in quality and process.
Training:
  • Deliver training sessions to build competence across the litigation team.
  • Present webinars to clients and stakeholders on regulatory updates and legal changes.
  • Occasionally provide legal seminars at client premises.
Advocacy:
  • Where appropriately qualified, take on advocacy responsibilities for complex matters including fast/multi-track trials and Orders for Sale.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as reasonably requested.
What’s on Offer:
  • Competitive salary.
  • Generous holiday allowance, with the option to purchase additional leave.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity packages.
  • Death-in-service benefit (4x salary).
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Flexible benefits platform including technology discounts, cinema offers, travel perks, and more.
  • Health and wellbeing support including counselling, menopause support, health screening, and financial advice.
  • Access to a volunteering day to support local or charitable causes.
  • Referral schemes and product discounts.
  • Professional development support including apprenticeships, CPD, and legal study sponsorship.
  • Commitment to environmental and sustainability initiatives.
If you are looking for a people-focused firm that values legal excellence, continuous improvement, and social responsibility, this is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact as the business expands its legal offering.
