Job description
Building Surveyor
Basic £35-45,000pa
Car or Car Allowance
We’re working with a well-established consultancy seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their expanding team. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with real scope — you’ll be involved in everything from surveys and design through to project coordination, contract administration and stakeholder management.
You’ll take ownership of detailed building inspections across residential, commercial and industrial properties, identifying defects, structural issues, and compliance risks. Your reports and recommendations will drive decision-making and shape project outcomes. Regulatory understanding is key — you’ll be advising clients on planning permissions, building regs, health and safety standards, and more.
From feasibility studies and technical design to site assessments and budget planning, you’ll be trusted to bring together technical accuracy and commercial pragmatism. Working closely with contractors, engineers and other professionals, you’ll help coordinate works, keep projects on track, and ensure quality, compliance and value throughout.
You’ll also play a critical role in managing tenders, contracts and procurement processes. That means evaluating proposals, selecting contractors, monitoring performance and ensuring everything is delivered to a high standard and within budget. Your eye for quality control and risk mitigation will be put to good use, especially during site inspections and project reviews.
Strong communication is essential. You’ll act as the go-to contact for clients, providing regular updates, solving problems as they arise, and ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Your reporting will cover everything from cost updates and programme progress to regulatory compliance and health and safety.
This is a role for a proactive, detail-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment but is comfortable taking the lead on their own projects. You'll need strong technical knowledge across all aspects of building surveying, alongside commercial awareness and first-rate client service skills.
What’s on offer:
A competitive package, ongoing CPD, and genuine development opportunities within a growing consultancy. You'll work across a varied and interesting portfolio and be given the autonomy and support to deliver best-in-class results.
If you're ready to step into a dynamic role where your technical ability and project delivery skills are genuinely valued, get in touch today or apply to learn more.
