What connection felt like at Women in Estate Agency’s NOT A Conference

On Thursday 5th March, I sat in the top row of the Shaw Theatre, looking down at a full room while women on stage held space in a way that felt both powerful and deeply human.

And I found myself thinking something that landed right in my chest and made me aware of every hair on my arms.

Maybe I’m not as far behind as I feel. Maybe the women around me are also quietly carrying that push and pull between being a mother and being ambitious. Maybe every mistake is just quietly shaping me into who I'm meant to be.

Lately, the immense juggle of being a working woman and mother has hit me more than ever. The pressure of trying to show up fully in every area of life, while quietly wondering whether you’re falling short in all of them.

So as I sat there listening, I found myself shedding a tear as some of that pressure left my body.

Hearing women in roles such as Founder, CEO and Head of Sales speak openly about burnout, mistakes, motherhood, resilience, rebuilding, and restarting life after marriage reconnected me to myself and the women around me.

It’s easy sometimes to think your experience is unique. To imagine yourself on an island where no one else quite understands how hard it all feels.

But throughout the day, in different ways and through very different stories, the speakers made me feel seen.

And I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.

That’s what Women in Estate Agency Not A Conference 2026 gave me.

Not just inspiration. But connection.

A reminder that womanhood can present unique challenges, but we are not carrying them alone.

A reminder that the strength we need is already within us.

A reminder that strength is built from the inside out, not from having a hard outer shell.

A reminder that sometimes we have to put our best foot forward even when we don’t feel fully ready.

And most importantly, a reminder that there are incredible women around us willing to support one another, share their stories, and help each other feel less alone.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day today, I’m grateful our industry is creating spaces for connection, and for women to feel supported, acknowledged and seen in their experience.
