Rayner Personnel’s Vision of Nationwide Coverage Gets Closer

Seventh licence awarded to popular property professional

Fast-growing estate agency recruitment specialist Rayner Personnel has announced the award of its seventh licence to Ian Hoskins, formerly Spicerhaart Managing Partner for London, who will primarily cover the East of England, including the counties of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. Ian Hoskins remarks, “Rayner Personnel is a fantastic business with a great reputation for recruiting top talent across the property industry. I personally used their services and was impressed with their ability to find great people, which is why I’m so excited to be joining them.”

Hoskins has enjoyed a successful business career spanning quarter of a century in which he has chalked up experience in estate agency, personnel services and retail telecoms. In his most recent role Hoskins was responsible for a £25m budget, some 60 branches and 300 people. “I’ve employed numerous salespeople and managers over the years and felt it was the right time to be my own boss,” he explains. “At this stage of my career I want to be in control of my own destiny. The Rayner Personnel franchise is a good stepping stone into it and plays to my strengths.”

Essex born and bred, Ian Hoskins lives with his wife Samantha in Thorpe Bay, just outside Southend-on-Sea. Outside work, his plans include learning to sail with his oldest son – he has two – and maintaining his fitness by road cycling. This year, he was part of a team that raised £75,000 for the charity Magic Moments by cycling 300 miles from Cardiff to Colchester in three days.

He can see a real need for the service he will be offering as Rayner Personnel’s newest director. “One of the biggest problems a recruitment company solves is time. Having worked in the personnel services and estate agency industries, I know senior managers don’t have the time to attract and vet good candidates,” he says. “But I’ve been in their shoes and so I understand the type of person they need – employers will be dealing with someone who knows what they’re talking about, not someone who’s never employed staff before.”

As for candidates, he promises, “The majority of people typically change jobs, not because of money but because they don’t enjoy working for their line manager – they feel unappreciated and unable to progress in their career. I want to be able to offer candidates opportunities with real growth potential.”

The latest Rayner Personnel office will open its doors in September this year and until then Hoskins will work out of the firm’s Bishops Stortford head office.
