An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Protection Adviser to join a successful and established mortgage brokerage.
The position is primarily remote, with the flexibility to join the business on either an employed or self-employed basis. Candidates must live within approximately 2.5 hours of Reading and be willing to attend occasional training sessions and business meetings.
You will receive qualified, pre-booked appointments generated by the company's mortgage-only advisers, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality protection advice and converting warm opportunities.
 
The Role
As a Protection Adviser, you will provide specialist protection advice to clients introduced by the mortgage team.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting detailed protection fact-finds and client reviews
• Identifying clients' individual and family protection requirements
• Advising on life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection and other suitable protection products
• Providing clear, compliant and tailored recommendations
• Managing pre-booked appointments supplied by the mortgage advisers
• Building strong and trusted relationships with clients
• Converting warm leads into protection business
• Completing accurate suitability reports and compliance documentation
• Submitting applications and liaising with providers and underwriters
• Managing cases from initial appointment through to policy commencement
• Following up clients and maintaining a strong pipeline
• Keeping accurate and up-to-date records on the company CRM
• Working towards agreed conversion, quality and performance targets
• Delivering an excellent customer experience throughout

Essential Requirements
To be considered, candidates must have:

• Current or recent experience working as a Protection-only Adviser within a mortgage brokerage
• A strong track record of advising on and selling protection products
• Experience converting mortgage-generated protection leads
• R05 or CeMAP 1 qualification
• Strong knowledge of life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection
• A good understanding of FCA requirements and compliant sales processes
• Excellent telephone, video-call and relationship-building skills
• The discipline and organisation required to work successfully from home
• The ability to attend occasional meetings and training near Reading

Please note: candidates currently working as combined Mortgage and Protection Advisers will not be considered. This position requires proven Protection-only Adviser experience within a mortgage brokerage.
