Property Manager - Estate Agency
Location: Deptford, South East London
Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Five-day working week
The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established independent estate agency in South East London, is looking for a Property Manager to join its close-knit team in Deptford.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least one to two years' residential property management experience who is ready to develop their career within a professional and supportive independent agency.
The company combines decades of property industry experience with a modern, innovative and results-driven approach. It has a strong local presence, an established managed portfolio and a reputation for providing realistic, knowledgeable advice to landlords and tenants.
This is a hands-on Property Manager position and is not a senior management role.

The position operates across a five-day working week.
The Property Management team is currently trialling a Monday-to-Friday working pattern and is not presently required to work Saturdays. However, the employment contract will include Saturday working should the business decide to reintroduce it.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of residential properties
- Acting as the main point of contact for landlords and tenants
- Coordinating maintenance, repairs and contractor appointments
- Managing property inspections and following up on required works
- Monitoring rent payments and assisting with rent arrears
- Arranging gas safety certificates, EICRs, EPCs and other compliance documentation
- Managing tenancy renewals, check-ins, check-outs and deposit-related matters
- Responding promptly and professionally to maintenance enquiries
- Keeping landlords informed and providing regular updates
- Maintaining accurate property and tenancy records
- Working closely with the wider lettings and property management team
- Visiting managed properties when required
To be considered, you should have:
- At least one to two years' experience in residential property management
- A good understanding of lettings legislation and property compliance
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Confident communication skills when dealing with landlords, tenants and contractors
- The ability to manage maintenance issues calmly and efficiently
- Good attention to detail and accurate administration skills
- A proactive, practical and customer-focused approach
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to drive when required
- Experience using estate agency or property management software would be beneficial
