Overview
The Assistant Branch Manager will be supporting the Branch Manager in leading day‑to‑day operations of a busy estate agency branch. This role combines sales leadership, staff supervision, customer service excellence, and operational management. You will ensure the branch hits sales targets, delivers outstanding customer experiences, and maintains compliance with industry standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
- Support the Branch Manager in achieving and exceeding branch revenue and performance targets.
- Drive sales activity across lettings and/or residential sales teams.
- Conduct market appraisals and assist in winning new instructions.
- Monitor local market trends and competitor activity to identify business opportunities.
- Assist in creating and executing local marketing and canvassing strategies.
- Ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all stages of the sales or lettings process.
- Handle escalated customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, buyers, landlords, and tenants.
- Support the Branch Manager in supervising, coaching, and motivating the branch team.
- Help manage team performance through KPIs, one‑to‑ones, and training support.
- Contribute to a positive, high‑performance culture within the branch.
- Assist in running the daily operations of the branch, ensuring it is efficient and compliant.
- Ensure all processes meet legal and regulatory requirements, including AML, GDPR, etc
- Oversee accurate maintenance of documentation, systems, and reporting.
- Act as the senior point of contact when the Branch Manager is absent.
- Experience in estate agency is essential, with a proven record of success.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Knowledge of local property market trends.
- Industry qualifications such as ARLA, NAEA, Etc. desired, but not essential
- Experience conducting valuations would be beneficial.
- A full UK driving license and access to own car IS essential.
- Professional, confident, and customer‑focused.
- Target‑driven with a proactive, positive mindset.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Reliable and able to take initiative when required.
- Full‑time, Monday to Friday, with Saturday working based on a rota (day off in lieu).
- Competitive basic salary with great commission & bonus structure.
- Car allowance may be provided (negotiable).
