“Actions speak louder than words”
I spotted this sign today getting my morning steps in.
Every week I speak to agents who tell me they’re looking for a business with a better culture, stronger leadership or more opportunities.
I also speak to directors who tell me they’re building exactly that.
The reality?
Candidates don’t join a business because of what a company says. They join because of what they see.
If you are running a business, can you confidently say that you have a great culture? Why would someone want to join your business?
Do your managers develop people?
Do you celebrate success?
Do your team genuinely enjoy coming to work?
Do your people stay because they want to, not because they have to?
Likewise, candidates actions matter too.
The best people don’t just talk about ambition and goals. They consistently hit targets, build relationships, look after clients and invest in their own development.
In recruitment, words open conversations, and actions build reputations.
And reputations are what attract the very best people.
